Today's Prayer

Prayer for Healing From painful Memories

Heavenly Lord,

I come to You today asking You to rid me of all  bad and hurtful memories. 

I feel vulnerable, open to harm, like an open wound that alcohol is spilled on. 

One moment I think I am fine, and the next I am falling apart. 

Nightmares surround me and bad memories swirl. 

Jesus, help me to lay down my pain and surrender it all to You. 

I know that all darkness flees at the utter of Your name. 

You are my my safe place, my shelter, and my refuge.

I trust and abide to St. peter’s words in his first epistle, saying “And God of all grace, who called me to His eternal glory in Christ, after I have suffered a little while, will Himself restore me and make me strong, firm and steadfast.”

Amen.
