How To Overcome Evil With Good? (Romans 12 :20-21)

“Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12 :20-21)

Here in these verses that we just read, St. Paul gives us the key to how to overcome the devil and his temptations. 

It is by disobeying all the notions of the devil that he throws to our minds and doing the opposite action according to the word of God. 

So if the devil makes a friend hates us, we do not get hurt and hate him in return, but love him and obey the word of God and not repay evil for evil. 

If the devil tries to fill us with sadness, we do not receive this evil spirit, but we do the opposite and remind ourselves with the several times when Jesus was so faithful and so good to us and this will make us filled with joy instead of sadness.

We must remind ourselves that it is not the person in front us who hates us, but it is the devil in him that provoked him to hurt and do evil to us. 

When we  remind ourselves with this truth we will be able to forgive and at the same time we get the power of the Holy Sprit to overcome this sprit.

We also must rebuke this spirit in the name of Jesus to release this person from this spirit and save ourselves from being attacked by it and get under its influence. 

Saint Paul advices us to have regard for good things in the sight of all men, and If possible, live peaceably with all men. 

How? 

By rejecting and rebuking any evil spirit that attack us in the name of Jesus and not repay evil for evil. 

Amen.
