Today's Prayer

A Prayer To Hold Tight To The Word Of God

Dear Lord,

Your word in the Gospel gives me the spiritual law by which I must live. 

You loved me and You offered Your eternal life to me to live a better life and live it abundantly. 

Obeying Your word is the way to have Your eternal life. 

I cannot obey Your word unless I love You with all my heart, my mind, my soul, and all my strength. 

This was Your first commandment. 

Yes Lord, I love You, and I want to obey Your word. 

I want to unite with You, and abide in You. 

I want to please Your heart and be in Your image and likeness. 

Lord, I love my job and I consider it a gift from Your hand. 

I need it to pay my bills and get all my family’s needs. 

But Lord, I am coming to You now, In a dire situation. 

I am being asked to do something which violates Your word and my pure conscious that You have created in me. 

I know what they asked me to do violates Your law and the earthly law too. 

I know it is wrong though they tell me it is not. 

I also know that there will be real consequences if I say no. 

Please Lord, give me the spiritual and moral strength to say no, and be willing to accept the consequences of losing my job. 

I know that You who provides all my provisions. 

You who has given me this job and can give me another. 

I want to have strong faith and say no with boldness and courage. 

I am Your child and You will never forsake me. 

Fill me with this truth please, Lord. 

I want to rely completely on You. 

Lord if I am subject to consequences like termination, please be with me and come quickly to provide all my family’s needs. 

Do not leave me a second in this season of darkness, sadness, and shadow. 

I trust in Your unconditional love. 

I know You always provide for Your sheep, and I am trusting You to help me through this ugly and corrupted world. 

I pray for my boss who asked me to do this wrongful act, that he would be convicted in his conscience. 

Now all I want is to forgive him and be ready to accept any consequences without fear or sadness. 

I love You Lord, and I am very thrilled to be a true child of God filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to face anything without fear and be filled with courage. 

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. 

Amen.
