The Lord Longs For Us To Bear Spiritual Fruits (John 15:15-17)

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

These things I command you, that you love one another.” (John 15:15-17)

When we believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him in us, in the Holy Sprit, we become His temple.

But believing and receiving Jesus in us is not our only ultimate goal that we are seeking.

Our ultimate goal is to be united in Him and be partakers in His life and glory.

This union in Christ cannot be achieved except if we abide in Him.

Abiding in Him is the stage where we bear fruits.

We abide in Him no matter what circumstance we are facing good or bad.

Difficult seasons in our lives should actually be a time of growth and maturity in our unity with the Lord.

In trials and difficult times, we fix our eyes on Christ instead of focusing on the difficulty we are facing.

Focusing on Jesus all the time will make our roots grow deeper Him.

If we do not stay rooted and grounded in His love and the truth of His word, we begin to lose our sustaining life and we become prone to depression.

In the time of trouble we need to allow our unity with Christ grow deeper and deeper instead of yielding to despair.

No matter our circumstances, we must hold tight to our unity with Christ, and allow our fruits to ripen and get mature.

If we are abiding in Jesus, the Vine, we will see His fruits in us abundantly.

Each one of us must be grateful for the little fruit we do have and try to nourish it day by day in the Holy Spirit.

We must remember the Lord’s words, that he is the One who chose us, and appointed us that we should go and bear fruit, and that our fruit should remain.

It is His promise that if we abide in Him and bear His fruits, whatever we ask the Father in His name, He may give us.

Amen.
