When We Submit To Jesus We Will Discern His Will (Romans12:1-2)

“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans12:1-2)

Submitting ourselves to the work of the Holy Spirit in us will transform us to the image and likeness of Jesus.

He will make us holy as He is holy. 

So submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit’s process of sanctifying us, involves transformation of our fleshly desires. 

Our flesh would rather disobey, justifying things that gratify our wants and desires. 

But when we obey and submit our bodies to the Holy Spirit, He renews our wants and desires. 

He will turn us away from the patterns of the world, and we will be able to discern what is the good will of God for our lives. 

St peter in his first epistle, chapter two, tells us to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against our souls.

Submitting not only our souls but also our bodies will defy the standard of the world, which is constantly changing to gratify sinful flesh. 

To offer ourselves as a living sacrifice is our true and proper worship. 

What a blessing to be able to discern the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. 

Amen.
