Love Your Enemy (Luke 6:35-36)

“But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. 

For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” Luke (6:35-36)

Jesus, our Lord and savior, came to our world to defeat the devil our enemy for us and set us free from his bondages of sin & death. 

He came to give us His life and in Him we be changed to His image & likeness. 

Because of His love He had mercy on us and gave us hope in His name to be born again from above Spiritually. 

None of the commands that Jesus asks us to do come naturally. 

We cannot love our enemies and those who hate us. 

Jesus knows that our nature had been corrupted. 

That Is why He took a body like ours, and with this body He defeated sin and gave this body, His overcoming power over sin and death. 

He  was resurrected and gave His resurrection power over death to all those who received Him In the Holy Spirit. 

It is only in Christ that we can forgive and love others as ourselves. 

In Christ alone, mercy and truth meet together. 

We must be filled with the Holy Spirit to see the world through His perspective, and His mercy & love flows through our lives. 

When we are merciful to others we transfer Jesus’ mercy and forgiveness to them, and this brings the joy of the Holy Sprit to their hearts and ours. 

When we submit to Jesus in the Holy Spirit we get ourselves filled automatically with His compassion and mercy. 

St. Paul also advises us in his epistle to the Ephesians, chapter four, to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave us.
