Today's Devotional

Rely On Jesus, He Is Our Salvation (Psalm 40:1-2)

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. 

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” (Psalm 40:1-2)

We live in a broken world which causes us to be mentally struggling. 

The spirit of confusion and doubt are all around us everywhere. 

So mental health struggles are not always a sign of weak faith or failure, it is just part of living in a broken world. 

To be able to continue living in this ugly world peacefully and healthy mentally and spiritually, we must be covered by the protection of the Holy Spirit. 

Jesus is our only refuge in this world. 

He is the only One who overcame all these evil spirits that surround us. 

He came to lift us up from this slimy pit of this dark world. 

We can rely on Jesus to bring us hope and healing in the Holy Spirit. 

The lies that the devil throws in our minds and we believe them can keep us trapped, but the truth of Jesus’ word sets us free. 

The Gospel tells us that Jesus sees what we are going through and will help us if we reach out to Him. 

To live in this dark world is painful, but it is not the end of our story. 

It is okay to feel discouraged, but do not believe the lie that our pain is permanent. 

Jesus promises the pain of living in a fallen world today would not last forever. 

In the power of His name we can defeat all the painful thoughts. 

We read in the book of Revelation, chapter two, that Jesus will wipe every tear from our eyes. 

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed. 

Our Lord sees what we are going through, understands our pain, and walks us through it. 

Jesus will lead us to everything we need to help us to heal. 

So, now we all must choose to receive Jesus in our hearts, unit with Him, and abide in Him. 

We must remember that the devil is a lier and the father of lies who came to separate us from Jesus who came to give us His eternal life. 

Amen.
