Today's Devotional

Jesus Is Calling Us To Be Thankful & Joyful (1Thessalonians 5:14-18)

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1Thessalonians 5:14-18)

The word of God is active and living. 

Jesus, our creator, knows what we are passing through everyday. 

He was tempted when He descended to our world and had a body like ours. 

He knows  how fierce is our enemy and how wicked he is. 

Jesus said that the devil is a liar who came to destroy, steel and kill us. 

The word of God today is telling us to exhort and warn each other everyday to be sober and alert and beware of our enemy. 

The main thing we should do as believers is to be thankful in everything. 

Why? 

Because thanking Jesus with all our heart let His presence prevails and overcome the trial that the devil is sending to us. 

By thanking Jesus we declare that our savior is there to lift us up from all the devil’s evil deeds and plans against us. 

To have a thankful heart is a blessing from the Holy Spirit. 

Let all of us in theses joyful days celebrate God’s salvation plan, sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to our world and save us from all the devil’s schemes. 

St Paul is exhorting us today to go to all people around us and comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all, and not to render evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for ourselves and for all.

Not only that but, to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks. 

Why we must do all of that? 

For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us. 

Amen.
