Today's Devotional

Our Hope Is In Jesus Our Savior (Psalm 118:21-24)

“I will praise You, for You have answered me, and have become my salvation. 

The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. 

This was the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the 

LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:21-24)

Every single day is a gift from God. 

He gives us opportunities everyday and makes each day with purpose. 

He places us in all the opportunities He gives to enjoy, rejoice, and be glad by fully embracing them. 

Unfortunately we forget that our life is a gift from God and we rush to our daily routine schedules, get caught up in stress, and focus on all the disappointments that the devil, our enemy, puts on our way all the time. 

He puts obstacles and opposes us to distract us from all the blessings that our lord gives us each day. 

He is a thief who comes to steal our joy in the Lord. 

Our thoughts drifts toward anxiety of what has gone wrong today and fear from what might go wrong tomorrow. By this way the Lord’s gift of today quietly slips through our fingers. 

Today the Psalmist reminds us to rejoice today and thank God for His gift of the day. 

Yes, the world around us is so ugly and corrupted and we may not be able to feel glad. 

But the Lord’s call to us today is to rejoice and be glad because He is with us to overcome all the evil around us. 

We should not focus on our bad circumstance but focus on Jesus’ strength within us and how He will overcome the bad circumstance we are facing through the dwelling of the Holy Spirit in us. 

When we do so, we will find plenty of blessings from Jesus, our Lord and Savior, to celebrate, and rejoice with thanksgiving.
