The Strength of Jesus’ Name (2Corithians 12:7-9)

“And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 
Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ” (2Corithians 12:7-9)

This is one of the ultimate statements that recognizes our weakness and God’s strength. 
God’s power is made perfect in us when we recognize our weakness. 
So often in life, society teaches us to be strong, and depend on our own strength and capabilities. 
This is so stressful and lead us to anxiety and depression. 
That may work in the world, but that does not work in God’s kingdom. 
In fact, the opposite is true. 
God’s strength only kicks in when we stop depending on our own strength. 
It is at the end of our weakness where we find God’s grace to help us in every area of our life. 
If we are weak today, and we acknowledge it, then praise God, because now we are in position to find God’s grace to empower us. 
There is power in the name of Jesus. 
The reason we stand is that we trust in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. 
Everyone else who is trusting in something else will ultimately fail. 
Trusting in the name of the Lord is an admission that He is the one who will bring us through. 
Because Father God rescues and delivers those who trust Him, that’s why there is power in the name of Jesus. 
Amen.
