Today's Devotional

He Who Call You Is Faithful (1Thessalonians 5: 23-24)

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” 
(1Thessalonians5:23-24)

Any change in our lives can feel confusing. 
The unknown future difficult to step into when we cannot see how everything is going to work out. 
But for us, we the children of God, our life and future is in Jesus’ hands. 
Stepping out in faith to follow Jesus’ call is not always easy. 
There are often uncertain futures, unanswered questions, and things we cannot fully understand. 
But the word of God we just read now, reminds us that even when we cannot fully understand Jesus’ calling, we must know that He is faithful and is at work. 
So instead of clinging to the past, we pray for open eyes and a willing heart to see the new thing He is unfolding in and through our life. 
Jesus has good plans for us and wants to lead us to see all that He has. 
We must not fear of any change because this will keep us from something new He is doing in and through us. 
When any change in our life comes whether it is a new job, new opportunity, or a new ministry, it often requires relinquishing our grip of the old one and receive Jesus’ calling. 
He invites us to release the old and receive the new calling for His glory. 
We must pray for the strength to loosen our grip on the old so we can receive the newness of life He offers. 
Jesus is faithful and He is able to do all things for our good. 
Amen.
