The Joy Of Thanksgiving (1Thessalonians 5:16-21)

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. 
Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” (1Thessalonians 5:16-21)

This season is the best time of the year, the Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. 
We all love being with the family and friends celebrating, enjoying great food and great fellowship. 
When we celebrate Thanksgiving, we tend to focus on our blessings and giving thanks for God’s goodness, but we forget to turn Thanksgiving into Thanks-living. 
To thank God in everything regardless of the day or the situation, shows our faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord, and our trust in His love, no matter how deep the problems or how dire the circumstances. 
Thanks is faith turned inside out. Thanking Jesus all the time changes our disposition. 
Instead of being down and discouraged, spreading gloom and despair everywhere we radiate the joy of the Lord. 
The best witness for Christ is when we are facing life’s trials with a song of thanksgiving on our lips. 
Our thanks-living opens the door for Jesus to work more in us to sanctify us and make us holy as He is holy. 
Jesus commands us not to grumble and gripe because this is the fruit of the spirit of the devil, but instead we praise Him and give thanks. 
As we live a life of thankfulness to Jesus, He begins to work, even through the toughest trials. 
Apostle Paul was beaten and thrown into prison and he sang a hymn of praise to the Lord. 
And when he finished singing, the Lord rescued him and the prisons’ doors were opened. 
When we thank Jesus and praise His name, we open the way for His hand to stretch and does miracles on our behalf even in the deepest, darkest pit. 
We all must discipline ourselves to give thanks in everything. 
He is worthy of all our thanks and praise. 
Amen.
