Today's Prayer

Prayer Asking For The Spirit Of Courage

My Lord Jesus,
In the beginning of this day I come to You with a special request. 
I want to be filled with courage and boldness. 
Please Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day.
When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. 
For many years since I was a child, I have been bound by the spirit of fear. 
I fear everything. 
I am filled with fearful thoughts that make me unconfident and hesitant even when I talk with others, whom I do not know, about my believes and faith. 
Holy spirit come and fill me with courage to face all fearful events and people and trust that Who is within me is greater than those who are against me. 
Grant me Lord, courage to talk about You and defend my faith with the spirit of meekness and confidently. 
Please Lord, give me the courage to do whatever need to be done. 
Remind me always that the Holy Spirit who is in me is the One who will talk in me. 
You said in the Gospel of St. Mathew, chapter ten, that You will send us out as sheep in the midst of wolves and we have to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 
You promised us not to worry about how or what we should speak. 
For it will be given to us in that hour what we should speak; for it is not we who speak, but the Spirit of our Father who speaks in us. 
You told us that evil people in this world will hate us for Your sake, as a testimony to them, but when they deliver us up, we should not worry. 
Jesus, please help me to hold fast on Your words because You are the truth, the way, and the life. 
Please Lord, hear my supplications and prayers. 
I glorify Your name now and forever. 
Amen.
