Today's Devotional

The Heavenly Father Knows What We Need (Mathew 6:31-33)

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. 
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Mathew 6:31-33)

We are all very busy entangled with this fallen broken world. 
A lot of things come to our minds in the morning like, our to-do list of the day, the food we eat, the bills to pay, etc,. 
We are bombarded in our emails, social media, and phone calls. 
The last thing we thing of is to talk to our creator, the source of our lives, the incarnated Son, Jesus Christ. 
But Jesus today is telling us to seek His kingdom first and He will provide all the things we need. 
We have to create a space to sit silently and talk to our Savior and protector. 
He is the One who provides all our provisions. 
He is the One who can save us from evil. 
Without Him we cannot defeat our enemy, the devil, who came to steal our joy and peace and destroy us emotionally and physically. 
We all must ask ourselves, what is the first thing we do when we open our eyes in the morning? 
Do we jump to go to work, or do we ask Jesus, our Lord and Savior to be part of our day? 
Do we pray and surrender our day to Him and ask Him to guide our steps and give us His wisdom in all what we do? 
Today Jesus is calling us to come to Him first and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and He promises that when we do that all things shall be added to us. 
He is asking us not to worry about anything because He is with us. 
He will provide everything we will need and save us from this overwhelming world. 
Thank You Jesus for Your loving kindness. 
Amen.
