Today's Prayer

Prayer Seeking Jesus When Feeling Dry & Empty

Jesus my Lord and Savior,
I am coming to You today feeling empty, dry, and distracted. 
My soul is thirsty for You in this weary, parched land of endless to-do lists and responsibilities. 
I miss You. I miss the closeness and the joy that bubbles up when I sense Your presence, Lord. 
Lord, I'm not trying to hide my spiritual emptiness. 
I know that You see me from inside and outside. 
You know the number of my hair. 
Jesus, I am under a sever attack from the devil. 
He makes me distracted every time I sit to pray or read Your word. 
It has been a while since this is happening. 
I admit that I surrendered to his distractive thoughts until I felt dryness and emptiness. I cannot pull myself to read the Gospel. It became very heavy for me to even open my mouth and talk to You like before. 
But, Lord, I come to You now, seeking Your help in the Holy Spirit.
I feel I am dying without Your presence. 
You are my Life and the light that enlightens me from within. 
I am choosing to seek You especially in this evil and empty world. 
When my prayers feel like I am just forging through a script, help me to lean in instead of leaning away. 
When I fail to focus or worship You, strengthen me with Your Spirit. 
Would You breathe life back into my spiritual lungs? 
Please, Lord, restore my childlike faith about spending time with You. 
Thank You for Your longing to know me, which does not lessen during these seasons. 
Your love doesn't depend on my emotional state or spiritual performance. 
You are faithful even when my faith feels weak. 
Thank You, Jesus. I praise Your name now and forever. 
Amen.
