Today's Prayer

A Prayer for the Middle of the Night

Jesus my Lord,
I come to You because the devil my enemy wages a battle against me.
Every night I go to bed and I cannot sleep. 
Every hour throughout the night, I woke up. 
A million little pestering thoughts like pinballs were released in my mind, invading my sacred sleep time. 
They make me attentive and very anxious trying to fix the problem with my wisdom and strength. 
I feel the pressing problems of the world hit me at unforeseen hours of the night. 
Remind me Lord, to not surrender to the devil anxious thoughts which he throws into my mind at night, and make it not a call to worry, but a call to prayer. 
Remind me to put on the whole armor of God not only all day but also all night. 
Jesus You said that if I remain in You and You in me, I will bear much fruit in the Holy Spirit because apart from You I can do nothing. 
I know Jesus that only You who is able to do the impossible. 
Please Lord, hear my prayers and get me back to sleep. 
I call out to You to save me and heal me. 
Help me Lord, to trust in You and You alone. 
Remind me that if You are with me, no one can be against me. 
Let me ignore all the evil thoughts that trigger me and make me anxious. 
Lord, I need Your help to overcome these anxious thoughts that wake me up all night. 
Lord, fills me now with Your overcoming power in the Holy Spirit to win this battle. 
In You I am strong and more than a conqueror. 
This is my faith that I proclaim loudly to myself and to my enemy, the devil. 
Jesus I praise Your name now and forever. 
Amen.
