Do Good, And You Will Receive The Same From The Lord (Ephesians 6:5-8)

“Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:5-8)

St. Paul reminds us that, we as children of God, must do our work in sincerity of heart and faithfulness, as to Christ. 
We do good because our Lord is good and we represent Him in this world. 
With our work we either honor the name of our Lord or let His name is blasphemed among the people. 
We should not grow weary or give up of doing good, for in the proper time, we will reap our reward from Christ, our Lord. 
We all know that doing good work isn’t easy but hard. 
Not only that, but when we begin to question if what we are doing matters, we fail to understand the depths of God’s sacrificial love and the promise that we will have eternal life. 
The devil, our enemy, always fights us to stop doing good and makes us feel very weary and we fall into the trap of believing that if what we are doing is not easy or instantly rewarding, we must be doing something wrong and we  grow weary, faint, and sometimes long to give up. 
But the truth is that when we fall for this misconception, we are merely relying on our own abilities, efforts, and emotions, and bending to lies, rather than placing our trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ. 
But we must know this, that Christ our Lord sees the work we are doing, He sees the sacrifices we make, the battles we face, the hard truths we wrestle with, and He invites us to lay it all at His feet and find peace, comfort, and rest. 
We must do the good work, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord. 
He is the One who will reward us with His love and His eternal life abundantly. 
Amen.
