Today's Prayer

A Prayer for Wisdom

Dear Lord,
I confess that I lack wisdom.
I do not know what to say or to do in all the situations that I go through. 
You said in the Gospel that if I lack wisdom, I should ask You, Lord, and You will give me generously all I ask for without finding fault. 
I want Your wisdom, Lord, which is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 
Lord, I confess that when things get worse, I lack the wisdom to move forward. 
Instead, I feel stuck with a pile of broken pieces and no glue to put them back together. 
Gratefully, I have You, Jesus, my Lord and savior, who can give me His wisdom when I ask. 
Lord, I come to You now, seeking answers for this challenging season. 
In my helpless state, I know You have the solution. 
Please give me clarity and peace about what to do next. 
Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path, and I know there is wisdom within its pages. 
I trust You to lead me on the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake. 
In Jesus’ almighty name, I pray. 
Amen.
