Today's Prayer

A Prayer to Find Light When You Feel Surrounded by Darkness

Dear Jesus,
I come to You today asking You to enlighten me with Your Light and life. 
You said “I am the light who came to enlighten the whole world”. 
Lord, I confess that I live in darkness because I am surrounded with darkness. 
At times, I feel as though there is nothing but darkness around me.
You are the world's light, and I know You will surround me with Your glorious light when I return back to You and focus only on You and not on the wisdom of the world. 
Help me as I walk through this darkness to focus on Your light fully. 
I know that Once I focus on You, I will be filled with Your light, love and eternal life. 
Lord, You said that if I want to follow You, I have to deny myself and carry my cross cheerfully. 
I know that I am full of pride that let me feel that I am the controller of my life and I do not need You in my life. 
I tried this way of living my life and I failed. 
I need You Jesus. 
Forgive me, Lord. 
I come to You now denying myself. 
Without You I can do nothing. 
I found myself so weak without You. 
You are the almighty God who created the whole world. 
With one word You utter, all the impossible things become possible. 
You are my guiding force and the One who knows me better than anyone else. 
My heart praises You. 
Thank You for Your word in the Gospel that helps me to remember Your commands and it guides me to Your way. 
Jesus, You said You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. 
Yes Lord, You are the way of my salvation. 
Please come now and save me from myself and my sinful pride. 
In You I have eternal life. 
A life that is full of peace and joy that no one can take it from me. 
Your word is a lamp for my feet. 
Jesus, I promise You now, that I will obey Your word and I will focus on You to have Your light in me. 
I will abide in You and You in me and in You I will feel more confident and strong in this world. 
Thank You Jesus for saving me and giving me a way to be away from sin and death. 
I give You all the glory and honor now and forever. 
Amen.
