Today's Devotional

In His Mercy, He Saved Us From Sin & Death (Ephesians 2: 4-9)

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:4-9)

Satan had rejected God’s rule, seeking his own glory over the Creator, and he enacted a strategy to shift Adam and Eve’s focus from God to themselves. 
He introduced doubt in God’s goodness and promised they could be equal to the Lord, which both are great deceptions from pride. 
Adam and Eve disobeyed and placed their own thinking and perception above God’s truth. 
They declared their independence from God and sought a fulfillment apart from God, which doesn’t exist. 
They chose the self over God, and they received the consequences. 
Sin and Death entered their lives, and the world suffers entropy as a result. 
But Father God made another promise, a plan of redemption to return humanity to His image, through Christ, restoring what was lost.
Father God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to confront all satan’s evil and wicked spirits that attack us day and night, on the cross, and He defeated them all for our sake. 
He defeated them in His body, which is our body, by His resurrection from the dead. 
He abolished the sting of sin and death. 
He gave us the gift of having His grace, His Son, to dwell in us in the Holy Spirit. 
Thank You Lord for saving us. 
Amen.
