To Grow in Relationship with God (2 Peter 1: 2-4)

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:2-4)

When we pray to our Lord, Jesus Christ, and read His word in the Gospel, we get to know Him more and more.
He is the incarnated Word of God, who revealed to us who God is and His love to us.
He does not often show up in physical form for us to talk to, but He gave us His Holy Spirit to dwell in those who accept Him.
His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
But how can we communicate with Jesus and know Him more?
Just like any other relationship, we get to know someone by spending time with him, listening to his voice, and talking to him.
It is done through two-way communication.
Prayer is one of the ways that we can communicate with Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Sometimes, we listen to Jesus through His word, while other times, we do the talking.
Our prayers should be full of whatever emotion we feel in our current situations and circumstances.
God wants us to come to Him expressing all our joys, frustrations, celebrations, struggles, and even heartbreak.
Just like an earthly Father, God wants us to tell Him everything.
Nothing is too big or too small to share with Him.
Yes, He is all-knowing, but He truly wants us to share it all with Him and hide nothing.
The more we confess to Him all our sins and the deep, dark secrets, the more we have an intimate and confident relationship with Him.
The more intimate relationship with Him, the more we trust Him with our hardest trials, sins, and heartbreak.
Jesus is the only One we can trust, because, He is our Creator who knows us best and how we tick.
He is also the One who comforts and provides for us in our darkest or hardest moments.
He knows what we are thinking, our passions in our hearts, and our deepest desires.
However, He longs for us to share all of it with Him.
The more we share with God and listen to Him, the more we trust and faith in His strengthen.
Without faith we can not please the Lord.
Our praise and prayers allow us to share more with Him and allow Him to share more with us.
The more we sit with Him in prayers and meditating in His word, the more He reveals to us the mysteries of heaven through the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
