Do Not Doubt The Power Of Jesus’ Name (Ephesians 1: 19-23)

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” (Ephesians 1: 19-23)

We, the children of God, are in a continuous battle with our enemy, the devil.
Before attacking us he always throws doubtful thoughts about Jesus’ powerful authority over him and our identity in Christ.
Evil spirits want us to think that God is powerless against our trials.
Every time we face trials, that result from spiritual battles, we must remember that God is in control and we rebuke the evil spirit in the name of Jesus.
Everyday trials that the devil attacks us with challenge our confidence and endurance and they directly target our identity in Christ.
We may feel discouraged or overwhelmed when we go through everyday trials, but we must not doubt Jesus’ power over them.
He defeated all these evil spirits on the cross.
We must remember to use our weapons against them and put on the armor of God to defeat them.
Trials like financial struggles or health issues affect our circumstances and usually cause us to question our spiritual standing before God.
The spiritual warfare that the devil wages against us often let us forget Jesus’ authority and victory over them that He gave us in His name.
Evil spirits want us to forget who we are as children of God, and to believe lies about our Lord Jesus and ourselves.
Satan tried this tactic with Jesus Himself in the wilderness, saying, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Just like Satan tried to undermine Jesus’ identity, he tries to make us doubt our worth, salvation and our calling.
When we experience thoughts of condemnation, we need to recognize them as spiritual attacks.
St. Paul reminds us in his letter to the Romans, that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
But we have to check ourselves every time when we are tempted or being under the attack of the evil trials that we are abiding in our unity with Christ.
Apostle Paul is so clear that there is no condemnation to those who are IN CHRIST.
We have to be always in unity with Christ to be called the children of God.
It is not just believing in Christ that makes us children of God.
It is our unity with Him and His indwelling in us.
If Jesus is in us and we are in Him, we will be covered with His righteousness and therefore, no condemnation for us.
So when we face trials, instead of doubting Jesus and His power of saving us, we use theses trials to change our lives by helping us to grow spiritually.
If we trust Jesus while we go through everyday trials, He will use them to strengthen our faith, develop our character, and draw us closer to Him.
Apostle Paul in his letter to the Roman assures us, saying, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Amen.
