Finding Hope Amidst the Weight (Mathew 11: 27-30)

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father.
Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Mathew 11:27-30)

Many times we feel that crushing weight, the kind that settles on our chest, making even the simplest task feel monumental.
We feel prayer time shallow, and the joy we usually feel when praying, is absent.
It is not a specific event, not a crisis, but a pervasive sense of heaviness, a weariness of the soul.
We feel like we are drowning in a sea of negativity, the headlines screaming, the problems piling up.
When life feels difficult, the burden can be nearly unbearable.
Nowadays, we always hear the news which is packed with dark reports.
Personal problems, money worries, health issues, and relationship disputes can join forces to produce a powerful feeling of hopelessness.
But let me share with you this truth, that even when life's challenges seem unconquerable, there is a heavenly and holy support, a steadying force amidst the chaos, and hope.
There is that voice of the Lord that assures us that we are not alone.
When we acknowledge our struggles, the first step we should do is, to go to our savior, Jesus Christ.
We must call on Him on those moments of heaviness and sadness.
We do not submit to those feelings of hopelessness, but bring our troubles to our Lord.
We know that He sees us and knows our hurt.
He commanded us to lay all our burdens under His feet, and He promised to give us rest.
The Psalmist said that our Lord is the only One who can heal the brokenhearted and bandage their wounds.
Jesus wants to mend our brokenness, yet He requires us to share our brokenness with Him.
It demands bravery to confess our difficulties, but is a bold initial step toward discovering healing and optimism.
The second step is to anchor ourselves in the word of God, the Gospel.
When life feels overwhelming, it is easy to become trapped by the bad things around us.
It is easy to let the enemy's falsehoods take hold in our thoughts.
The cure for this negativity is the truth found in God's words.
The Gospel is a strong wellspring of hope, solace, and power.
Therefore, we must submerge ourselves in it, letting its promises fill us with calm.
Reading the Gospel and meeting Jesus, is the best source of hope cause He is the One who walked the earth, feeling and understanding human pain and anguish.
The epistles provide helpful advice and support for dealing with life's challenges.
The third step, is a very important step, whch is to pray as we read the Gospel, asking Jesus to show us the truth.
Ponder verses that match our present circumstances, letting their message sink into our souls and change our viewpoint.
In the calm times of thought with God's word, we discover the power and calm to handle life's challenges.
The forth step we should do is that while praying let thankfulness fill our souls.
Even during hard times, there is always something to be thankful for.
This doesn't mean that we ignore our hardships; but it means that we focus more on recognizing God's kindness despite our sufferings.
It's about developing an attitude of thankfulness to change our outlook toward hope.
Start each day with a prayer of gratitude, and regularly pause to consider our advantages.
The habit of thankfulness is usually the solution to discovering hope in hard times.
Amen.
