We Are Blessed To Bless Others (1John 5: 1-5)

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.
And His commandments are not burdensome.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1John 5:1-5)

We love, because God loved us first.
When we believe in Christ, and receive Him in us in the Holy Spirit, we are filled up with His love and be able to love others with His love.
In Christ, we discover what it truly means to love others.
We love others because Jesus loves them.
Jesus commanded us to love each other as He has loved us.
So when we love others we obey His command.
He said that the world will know that we are His disciples when we love each other.
When we abide in Jesus and He abides in us, He blesses us so that we can bless others out of our abundance.
God blesses us until our cups overflow, so that we have no excuse not to give out of the abundance of love and goodness He blesses us with.
Every act of love in His name brings glory to our great Father God.
He allows us time to love the people He has placed in our lives.
We must pray to God and ask Him how He wants to show His love to others through us.
What we have to give generously to show His mercy and compassion to the people around us.
In the letter to the Hebrews, chapter thirteen, St. Paul advises us to not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
We, the believers in Christ, give tithe, but our generosity doesn’t start and stop with tithing.
Love gives beyond what is required.
God looks at the heart of the giver over the size of the gift.
When we give and bless others we will be blessed and rewarded more and more.
In the Book of Proverb, we read, ”The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.” (Proverb 11:25)
Amen.
