Pray For Our Beloved Ones To Receive Jesus (John 16: 29-33)
“Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone.
And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:29-33)
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is our great healer.
He is able and willing to heal our broken hearts so we can find peace in this troubled world.
But in order for Jesus be able to heal us, this requires us to do our part, which is surrendering ourselves completely to Him.
He is full of mercy and compassion.
He wants to give us His eternal life which will be our source of rest, peace and joy.
During those scary moments when we are not sure how to find a resolution, we can cling to Jesus and stand on his promises.
He desires to set us free from our conflicts so we can experience the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
When we need wisdom on how to find peace, there is one place we can look to find the answers.
He did tell us that we will face all kinds of tribulation, like broken relationships, hatred, persecution, oppression, etc.
On these moments we can look to Jesus and He will give us instructions on how to act so we can have quiet, simple lives.
He assured us that in the world we will have tribulation; but He instructs us not to fear, but be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world for us.
It is not always easy, but it is possible to find the grace to muddle through conflicts that inevitably come up in our relationships.
A hard truth we have to surrender to when bringing our relationships to Jesus is that He is the only One who can change our hearts.
We sometimes want to push our children or our spouses to change as we did go to Jesus and He changed us.
We want them to repent and go to Jesus to receive the eternal life as we did.
But pushing others to Jesus is not by words or admonishing them, but by being an example of God’s love and show grace when we can.
The best way we can encourage peace in our relationships when the change needed is not dependent on our own actions, but through prayer.
Bringing the need we see before the Lord is the best way to gather the power, compassion, and self-control required to see a breakthrough in a situation.
The choice to pray for them day and night is the best thing to do.
Praying for our loved ones will make us see them the way God does, with true love and grace.
When we need insight on how to move forward, prayer and counsel are the best steps we can take to find it.
Sometimes, we need the faith-filled eyes of someone else who is willing to walk with us through the mess to find our way to safer and sweeter ground.
An outside view of your situation can shed light on the blind spots we all have when big emotions are involved.
We should not stay in the dark place of conflict alone. It is helpful to bring trusted people into our situations to help bring accountability, safety, wise counsel, prayer, and encouragement.
Amen.
