Today's Prayer

A Prayer For A Humble Heart

Dear Father God,
When I look closely at my life, I realize how much I need You.
I want to be a humble person like You.
I am terribly an arrogant person.
I am full of pride and I condemn every one around me. 
I pick up their mistakes and never look on mine. 
I do not want to be full of pride because it is the spirit of the devil. 
I want to be filled with Your Holy Spirit and its fruits. 
Please, Lord, fill my heart with a sincere desire to seek You and You alone. 
Prevent me from seeking recognition or self-righteousness. 
I want to spend more time in prayers and fasting to be able to resist this very evil spirit. 
Pride is the devil’s spirit that will lead to my fall and be separated from You. 
I want to fast and pray to overcome this evil spirit. 
Please Lord, remind me that fasting should be done in secret before You. 
Help me to approach this fast with the right motivation, honoring You above all else. 
Teach me to walk in humility before You. 
Strip away my pride and self-sufficiency so I can be aware every day that my life is in Your hand. 
Remind me that true humility involves surrendering myself to You and fully embracing Your grace. 
In Your Son’s precious name, Jesus Christ, I pray. 
Amen.
