How Shall They Hear Without A Preacher? (Romans 10: 14-21)

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? 
As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” 
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. 
For Isaiah says, “LORD, who has believed our report?” 
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 
But to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out My hands. 
To a disobedient and contrary people.” (Romans 10:14-21)

St. Paul left the Jews with no excuse for rejecting the Gospel. 
Paul insists that God fulfilled His part completely, giving the Jews extraordinary opportunities to come to faith in Him. 
He sent His message through His incarnated Son, but they did not believe Him. Therefore, God turned to the Gentiles who heard and believed. 
The Jews demanded signs and yet God had given them the continual sign of fulfilled prophecy.
God’s grace saves the willing people.
But those who reject Him are not willing for they seek righteousness on their own terms through works of the law and not through faith in Christ.
Those who believe in Christ are called the children of God, the church of Christ.
Amen.
