Today's Prayer

A Prayer For A Renewed Focus On Jesus

Dear Jesus,
As I’m dealing with the challenges of lustful desires and sin, I sometimes find myself focusing on what I’m missing rather than on You. 
I do not want my fight against sin to be in vain. 
You tell me in the letter to the Colossians “Set your minds on things on things above, not on earthly things.” 
Please help me focus on You, to seek You with all my heart, and to embrace this season as an opportunity to grow closer to You. 
Let Your Holy Spirit refine me and help me become more holy. 
As I focus on You, let me experience spiritual renewal and revival. 
Remove distractions from my heart and mind, Lord. 
Replace my longing for what I’ve given up with a greater longing for time with You. 
Please increase my perception of You so I can come to know You in deeper ways. 
Let my struggles with temptation remind me to turn my attention back to You and remember that You have overcame the devil for me and be assured that I will win the battle. 
Thank you, Jesus for loving me. 
I praise Your name now and forever. 
Amen.
