Today's Prayer

A Prayer For Strength To Resist Sin

Dear Lord,
I love You and I want to submit to You and let Your Holy Spirit cleanse me and take away any sin or habit that separates me from You. Lord, You see my heart and my desire to grow closer to You. 
But I confess that I’m struggling. 
Every time I start to resist all these bad habits, I crave what I’ve given up, and I’m distracted by missing it. 
Lord, I need You to give me strength, an overcoming power over all temptations of the devil. 
Your Word says in Philippians four: 
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength." 
Help me rely on Your unlimited strength rather than on my own limited willpower. 
Remind me that what I am abstaining is about devotion, not deprivation. 
Please sustain me as I walk on Your path. 
Your path is the truth, the way, and the life. 
Please Lord, hear my supplications and draw me closer to You. 
When I feel weak, help me to notice Your constant presence with me. 
Help me Lord, to avoid any distraction. 
Refresh and renew me, replacing my struggles with Your peace. 
Let this new covenant I am making with You now, be an opportunity for me to grow in trust and dependence on You. 
Strengthen my faith, Oh Lord, so I can persevere in my covenant with You. 
Every sacrifice I make is an offering to You, Lord, because I love You and want a closer relationship with You. 
Thank You for helping me stay strong while I am fighting all lustful desires and sinful temptations. 
In Your almighty name, I pray. 
Amen.
