Today's Prayer

Prayer To Preach The Name Of Jesus

My Lord and Savior Jesus,
I thank You for calling me Your child. 
I thank You for this privilege of sitting with You everyday in prayers and ask You for all I want. 
I thank You that despite my failings and my sin, Your arms are continually open to me. 
Despite what I have done, You extend Your love to me. 
I know that this is not because I deserve it, but because You are gracious and merciful and abounding in love. 
In that love, I hear Your call to welcome others and preach them Your name. 
I hear Your voice calling me  to open my heart in an expression of Your care to others. 
Lord, today, I feel Your call to welcome someone whom I regard as different from me. 
Inside, I feel a lack of desire to welcome anyone or to talk about You with anyone.
Jesus, I confess that I may even go so far as to say that I dislike those who do not love You. 
Those who do not want to know You and reject me, I do not want to know them or even pray to them. 
I get hurt Jesus. 
I know that this is not right and I have to preach Your name and never wait to see the respect and the love back from people.
You commanded Your children, whom they accepted You and received You in the Holy spirit, to preach Your name and You are the One who is responsible for the harvest. 
But Lord, please remind me that refusing to be stretched marks a refusal to be transformed, and so I ask You to help me step forward in faith. 
Give me the strength to follow You outside my comforts. 
Help me embrace the people You bring me to, regardless of who they are. 
Give me eyes to see You in the people I preach. 
And when this call makes me uncomfortable, remind me of the grace in which I stand, and the grace You call me to express. 
I pray all this in Your holy name, Jesus. 
Amen.
