Slavery To God Is Actually Freedom (Romans 6:21-23)

“For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 
What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? 
For the end of those things is death. 
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:21-23)

When we are enslaved to sin, we do not realize even to be ashamed of it.
But after having the grace of receiving Christ in us in the Holy Spirit, we start to realize how shameful the life of sin is and we can clearly see its deadly end. 
Slavery to God is actually our freedom and only this freedom can bear fruit of holiness and everlasting life. 
The word wage means something earned. 
So death is earned by man through his sin. 
But, eternal life is never earned but it is a gift from God. 
No human actions, no matter how good or noble they may seem, can earn eternal life, for it is only through the grace and love of God that everlasting life is given to us, in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
