We Need To Quiet Our Minds (Mark 1:33-35)

“At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed.
And the whole city was gathered together at the door.
Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” (Mark 1:33-35)

In our hectic, achievement-oriented world, we're moving all the time.
Our lives became on speed dial, running from one activity to another.
Even the ministers and preachers of the Gospel, they all became good in doing all the routine activities, shifting from one task to the next thing on their schedule, with little time to sit with the Lord who is the source of our spiritual power.
On the verses we have just read, we saw Jesus Himself was busy doing all the work of His Father all day, healing the sick and casting out demons, but in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
Jesus is teaching us that we need to quiet our minds and find a solitary place to communicate everyday with Father God in payer.
He is the maker of Heaven and earth, who is the source of our lives. We need Him to be active and alive in our lives.
He is the one who comforts us and guides us through all the days of our lives.
Every morning we prepare ourselves to communicate with Him.
Jumping into the spiritual realm is the only way to feel peace and all anxiety and fear go away.
We all  need to connect with God our creator.
By preparing ourselves for prayer, we're making room in our hearts to connect with God so He can hear us more clearly.
The Holy Spirit eagerly waits to rain down on everyone who has prepared his heart to recognize and receive Him.
We must carve out a special prayer place for ourselves, a place where we will meet God every day.
Before we can prepare our hearts, it's essential to step away from the noise and empty our minds of earthly cares.
Block out any distractions that will keep us from focusing on God.
Jesus taught us the best time to start our day is in the morning before the world unfolds.
We must realize that we are entering a safe place with our Lord who provides, protects, and takes pleasure in spending time with us.
We submit ourselves into a total state of surrender.
As we fix our gaze on Jesus, we will hear God’s voice.
This focusing on Jesus will take our attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts.
A Christ-centered prayer will open our willing hearts to take in all what Jesus offers us in the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
