Grateful Heart Leads Us To Deliverance (James 4:7-8)

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:7-8)

We, the believers, must be committed to gratefulness to our Father God.
We must be deeply humbled by His far-reaching grace, breaking through dark clouds of our suffering with rays of His love, light, and life.
When we thank God, we will automatically find ourselves drawing near to Him.
A heart of gratitude makes us feel God’s presence all the time.
We will realize that no matter what we face, He will come to change the bad situation to our good.
Not only our situation will change, but our hearts too.
When we focus on Him in times of trouble, He comes to release us from the grip of sadness and distress of the trial and strengthen us with His comfort through His Holy Spirit.
Gratefulness will deliver us from fear, overwhelm, and despair.
As St. Paul said in his epistle to the Philippians, chapter four, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
God promised us to meet all our needs, even amid suffering.
Gratefulness is actually a fortifying act of trust and faithfulness that strengthens our weary frame.
Let gratefulness become an assignment written on our hearts in sincere devotion to God.
We must turn to God and make Him the center of our lives, praising Him with thanksgiving.  
We have to commit our hearts to Him, offering gratitude amid suffering, and trusting Him to carry us through, equipping us for the journey ahead.
Amen.
