Keep Interceding And Do Not Grow Weary (1Timothy 2:1-6)

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” ( 1 Timothy 2:1-6)

We, the believers in Jesus Christ, want to walk the Lord’s path and be obedient to His commandments. But, sometimes we feel that His path is long and difficult.
Even Jesus said that His way is narrow, saying, “narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
(Mathew 7:14)
But He advises us to enter by the narrow gate because the wide and broad gate is the way that leads to destruction. (Mathew 7:13)
We all know that the way to Jesus is narrow because the devil wages a war all the time with God’s children.
He persecutes us trying to pull us away from the way that leads to eternal life.
We must remember that he is our enemy who came to steal, destroy, and kill us.
Jesus said He will not leave us orphans and without help, but He will give us His Holy Spirit to dwell in us to help us and guide us to the way of His eternal life.
We must obey His commands and rest in assurance that we, our families, and our children are held in the embrace of God’s sovereign plan.
We must trust that the Lord is at work, weaving His perfect will through our lives, including the lives of our prodigal children, who are attracted and tempted by the easy and the wide ways of this world.
The devil always tempts our teenagers at the puberty age with the false glamour of his ways.
So If we have a son or a daughter who went astray from the path of God, we pray and intercede with faith that they will be back home.
With each passing day, we must learn to release our fears and failures to Jesus, reminding ourselves of His promises and the hope He offers.
We cling to the belief that no matter how far they may wander, there is always a path back home.
But this will not happen unless we pray diligently for our prodigal children with thanksgiving.
I know how difficult it is to keep interceding when we do not see the fruit of our petitions.
But we must not grow weary.
St. Paul encourages us in his epistle to the Galatians, saying, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
We must do like the persistent woman whom Jesus talked about in the Gospel of Luke, saying, “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?
Will he keep putting them off?
I tell you he will see that they get justice, and quickly” (Luke 18: 7-8)
Jesus emphasized the importance of praying and never giving up.
So now we all must pray and call upon the Lord day and night and let our desires be known to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We must be persistent in prayer, believing in faith for our prodigals’ returns.
Amen.
