Today's Devotional

Seek The Kingdom Of God Above All Things (Mathew 6:31-34)

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek.
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Mathew 6:31-34)

Faith and worry cannot coexist.
One drives out the other.  
When faith in Jesus’ name fills our hearts, all the doubts, fears and worries are expelled outside.
We can rely easily on Him and His words and promises for us.
He said He will give us peace that transcends our imagination.
Those who submit to Him and surrender all to Him will receive His life, peace, and joy.
St. Paul in his epistle to the Philippians, chapter four, advises us to not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
He tells us how to not worry.
How?
By praying and telling Jesus what we need, and thank Him for all He has done.
Then we will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard our hearts and minds as we live in Him.
Jesus Himself is telling us today in the Gospel of Mathew not to worry.
If we are struggling with worry in our lives, ask His help and trust Him that He will answer and give us His peace.
He is the only one who sees the hidden and the future.
He knows the outcome of every decision.
His hand is on the steering wheel.
He cares about us.
His promise is that He will always be with us.
Amen.
