We Are Ambassadors For Christ (2Corinthians 5:18-21)

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2Corinthians 5:18-21.)

We, the Christians, are called to be Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
To be ambassadors means that we are Jesus’ representatives in this world.
To be living in a way that reflects His love, grace, and truth to others.
This calling to be an ambassador reminds us that our lives have a greater purpose than just our personal goals and desires.
We must not forget that we are here to serve God and to share with others the good news of the Gospel.
We must be ready all the time to witness to others through our words and actions and to see that being in our jobs, or among neighbors are opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus and to point people toward Him.
We begin to see our interactions with others as holy and divine appointments.
Living as ambassadors for Christ also means being mindful of how our actions and choices reflect on the kingdom we represent.
This purpose of our lives motivates us to live with integrity, compassion, and grace.
This perspective helps us to respond to challenges in a way that honors God and draws others to Him.
By living for this holy purpose, we store up treasures in heaven which brings us the fulfillment that comes from living for eternal life and not just for this life on earth which will wither.
This will also make us heavenly-focused.
Being heavenly-focused in our everyday lives is not about escaping reality or neglecting our earthly responsibilities, but instead, it is about living with a mindset that prioritizes what matters most from an eternal perspective.
This will make us ready to meet our Lord when He comes back to take His church and be glorified with Him.
Amen.
