In Everything Give Thanks (1Thessalonians 5: 16-18)

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18.)

It is very beneficial when we take our feelings of great thanksgiving and direct them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  
He is worthy of all glory, and He is our creator who gives us every good gift. 
He created us in His image and likeness. 
How great is that to be like Him in righteousness, holiness, kindness, and love. 
Gratitude is a gift from the Holy Spirit to us. 
To see how merciful and faithful our God is a great and joyful feeling. 
We often neglect to remember the little things that we are blessed with in our lives. 
We can be blinded to our blessings each day if we do not take time to thank God and remember them. 
Our world is full of selfishness, hatred, division and greed, however in Christ, we have great joy in His gift of peace, love,  protection, and provision to all our daily needs. 
Thankfulness by the Spirit is a tool not only to worship and give glory to our great God, but also, that we can use to fight back against the enemy.  
The devil’s spirit is the spirit of grumbling, dissatisfaction, and unthankfulness. 
That is why he gets burned and defeated when we just get more in the habit of practicing daily thankfulness.  
We must worship God in prayer daily for the gift of gratitude. 
St. Paul is telling us to rejoice always and pray thanking God without ceasing in times of victory as well as of hardship and pain. 
He also told us in his epistle to the Philippians, to be grateful in time of anxiety, because in doing this the devil our enemy will flee away and we will get delivered from his grip of fear and sadness. 
Thankfulness is our sign of victory over the devil our enemy. 
Amen.
