We Must Pursue True Abundant Life (Galatians 6: 7-10)

"Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.
So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.” (Galatians 6:7-10.)

There are two crucial questions that each one of us, as believers in Jesus Christ, must ask ourselves.
The first one is, where are we sowing our time, energy, resources, and heart?
The second question is, what treasure have we stored up with our loving, good heavenly Father?
St. Paul is drawing our attention that we must sow to the Spirit not to this perishable world.
He is warning us that the time has come for us to set aside that which entangles us to the fate of this age and live for that which is eternal.
The time has come for us to stop seeking fulfillment from that which is fleeting and instead pursue true abundant life here on earth by giving our heart fully to the Father God.
The Psalmist said in his Psalm ten that this world will perish, all will wear out like a garment, and will pass away.
When we receive Jesus Christ in us we give our life to Him and His perfect will for us.
He is a good God that has called us to be His children by adoption.
He is our creator who created us in His image and likeness.
He is a God who sees all of eternity at a glance.
He dwells within the whole scope of eternity seamlessly and fully.
He is the source of our life and light.
Without Him we will be in darkness.
So if we decided to surrender to Father God, to give our lives to Him and His will, we must invest in that which will fully satisfy the desires of our hearts for all time.
The God who has formed us knows that which will make our hearts truly happy, and He is calling us to step away from the fulfillment of this age and to pursue wholeheartedly the purposes and plans of His kingdom.
May we all invest our affections, time, resources, and heart with our loving and kind Father.
May we live for eternity and rid ourselves of the burden and weight of this world.
And may we experience today the abundant life that comes from acknowledging the eternal nature of all we do.
Amen.
