Joy Is A Gift From God To Us (Proverb 17:22)

“A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” (Proverb 17:22.)

Joy is a gift from God to us. He is the Spirit of Joy.
It is one of the fruits of His Spirit.
So a sign of our unity with Him is that we are filled with His joy.
We are designed and created to experience it.
That is why our minds and souls are always in struggle living in this sad, fallen, and broken world in which our joy can easily allude us.
We all struggle to hold onto joy as we move through our days.
When the devil tempts us with sadness and heaviness, joy becomes so hard to grasp and we get influenced by our enemy which leads us to all the negative feelings of depression, frustration, and exhaustion.
To submit to the devil’s spirit of sadness is a pit that we fall into it which makes us sick and most of the time leads to our spiritual and physical death.
The Holy Spirit is guiding us today to the way to be out of this pit.
First, we must be always grateful to Jesus and celebrate the simple blessings around us.
Remind ourselves with all the gifts and blessings we have from Him daily. To be grateful even to the tiniest thing that happens each day. We need to open our eyes to see all the blessings we have and receive everyday from God and write a list of them everyday.
The devil is our enemy who came to steel our joy that we have from God our creator.
When he steels our joy he destroys us and kills us.
We have to direct our hearts, minds, souls, and our bodies toward the good and beautiful around us to push back the cloudy shadows of darkness that seek to cover our eyes to not see all the blessings of God.
Second, we give thanks all the time to our Lord and Savior who came to release us from the darkness of the devil the prince of this ugly and corrupted world and enlighten us with His eternal light and life.
We need to live with more intentionality to be always filled with joy and be so grateful to our lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Joy must be our lifestyle as believers in Christ and be our strength to sustain us.
It embraces God’s pace, which includes rest.
Joyful spirit and heart is like medicine to all of us, it heals us from sickness and darkness of this world.
Amen.
