Those Who Wait On The Lord Shall Renew Their Strength (Isaiah 40:28-32)
Those Who Wait On The LORD Shall Renew Their Strength.
“The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall.
But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.”
(Isaiah 40:28-32.)
We live in a very corrupted and evil world.
The whole world became a hard place to live in.
No place or country is guaranteed to be safe and secure.
We have to work day and night nonstop in order to meet all our needs
and in the end we do not feel satisfied, accomplished, or even successful.
Our to-do lists can be overwhelming, especially when we feel we must do it all.
We always feel that we have a lot on our plate, responsible for a lot,
and we fear that if we let go, everything will crumble and fall apart.
All these feelings are because we are not leaning on Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
He created us in His image and He cares for us.
He created us to live in harmony with Him and rely on Him entirely for our needs.
When we lean on our strength, the sin of pride and self-sufficiency
control our minds and emotions.
We are not created to endure, control, and hold everything together,
and when we strive to do these things, we will eventually break under pressure.
Jesus said come to me you who is weary and heavy loaded and I will give you rest.
These verses of the prophet Isaiah sooth our hearts and give us confidence
that God will give us strength when we are weak and weary.
Those who rely on Him renew their strength every day.
So when we feel like our own strength is failing, or we need wisdom to take decisions,
we must pray asking Jesus in the Holy Spirit to come and give us strength and wisdom.
When we feel like we can't go on and depressed,
we ask Jesus to come to fill us with His joy and peace.
He promised that He will never forsake us and will never let the righteous be shaken.
We have to cast our cares on the Lord and He will sustain us.
He said in the Gospel of Mathew, chapter twenty-eight,
”I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Amen.
