Today's Devotional.

There Is No Fear In Love (1John 4:17-18)

“Love has been perfected among us in this:
 that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; 
because as He is, so are we in this world. 
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, 
because fear involves torment.
 But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 
We love Him because He first loved us.” 
(1John 4:17-18.)

When we read the Gospel, we will find that the word of God 
is the only amazing source of encouragement 
in the most fearful moments of life.
 We are heartened to trust in the love of God and pursue his righteousness. 
The only way to defeat the evil spirit of fear is to be united with Jesus Christ, 
the Spirit of love. 
There is no fear in love. 
When we get united with Jesus, His love will fill us with boldness 
and courage to face any circumstance, knowing that in Him 
we are victorious and fear nothing. 
In Jesus we have peace and love that surpass any human understanding 
and overcome any feeling of fear and anxiety. 

St. Paul in his epistle to the Romans, is reminding us, 
that we did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, 
but we have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry,”Abba Father !” 
Yes, having our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, dwelling in us, 
we should not be afraid of anything because He will protect us, 
defend us, and heal us. 
With our unity with God’s begotten Son, Jesus Christ, 
we have all the fruits of His Spirit.  
Fear is the devil’s spirit which we should reject and cast out 
because it has torment and leads to our physical and psychological sickness. 
But being wrapped with Jesus’ perfect love is the only way for us 
to be able to cast fear out.
