Take The Helmet Of Salvation To Withstand In The Evil Day (Ephesian 6:13-18)

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, 
and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield 
of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end 
with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” 
(Ephesian 6:13-18.)

We, the believers in the name of Christ, are facing spiritual attacks daily. 
Spiritual war need spiritual protection. 
By putting the armor of God, we will be able to take our stand against the devil’s schemes. 
We are aware of all the havoc he is causing in the world. 
He ignites wars for destruction and desolation. 
He causes inflation to spread poverty. 
He pollutes weather for the spread of pandemics and sickness. 
He also causes us problems in our personal lives. 

We need to equip ourselves with the full armor of God. 
To wear the helmet of salvation to be protected. 
Jesus is the only One who defeated the devil and abolished all his plans against us. 
He is our savior who saved us from all his wicked plots and deeds. 
The more we trust in Jesus, stop accepting doubtful thoughts, and relying on Him, 
the more we will be protected and feel His peace. 
He is always keeping a watchful eye over us. 

St. Paul is giving us a list of things we have to do to be able to stand against the devil 
in his evil days. 
First, to gird our waist with truth, how? 
by having to put on the breastplate of righteousness, that is to say, to be united 
with the righteous One, Jesus Christ, and be covered with His righteousness. 
Second, to take the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts 
of the wicked one. 
Third, to take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, how?
by reading the word of God which will fill us with the truth and will grow our faith. 
Forth, We must pray continuously with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. 

If we do all these, the love of God and His life will protect us from the evil days 
as well as the feeling of being under the influence of the spirit of fear and death. 
Amen.
