God’s Will For Us Is A Pleasing And Perfect Will (Romans 12:1-2)

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
(Romans 12:1-2.)

Many of us are wondering what is God’s will for our lives?
And are we in His will?.
We think that God’s will is something hidden that we need to seek out and discover.
But actually throughout the whole Gospel, God’s will is revealed to us.
He does not want us to figure Him and His will out, but instead He revealed Himself
and His will towards us.

The will of God consists of things that are in line with God’s plan and purpose towards our lives. Jesus taught us to pray for God’s will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
(Mathew 6:10.) God’s will is that we be in the image and likeness of Jesus as He first created us.
He wants us to love each other as He has loved us, to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly as He was humble.
His will for us is to obey His commands to avoid the devil’s temptations and his lustful sins
that lead to our death.

In the second epistle of St. Peter, chapter three, we read that God’s will is, that none would perish and He wants all to be saved.
God’s will for us is that everyone who looks to the Son, Jesus Christ, and believes in Him
shall have eternal life and will be raised up with Him in the last day.

(John 6:39-40.) In the first epistle to the Thessalonians, chapter five, we read that God’s will for us
is that we should be sanctified, avoid sexual immorality, to control our own bodies in a way
that is holy and honorable.
(1Thessalonians 4:3-5.) God’s will for us is that we not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is that good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Amen.
