Today's Devotional
Now We Have Received The Spirit Of God In Us (1Corinthians 2: 10-14.)
“It is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.
For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?
Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1Corinthians 2: 10-14.)
These verses are so encouraging to all who believed and received the Holy Spirit in them.
They tell us how unimaginable the blessings and the future that God has prepared for those who love Him.
They remind us, the believers, that God’s plan and provisions for us surpass our human understanding and imagination.
This assurance encourages us to maintain our faith and love for God, trusting that His promises hold incredible and unseen rewards.
One of the greatest rewards we already have is the privilege of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God in us.
By having the Holy Spirit in us we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Not only that, but we also will be having the wisdom of the Holy Spirit that let us speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Now, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us, we can discern all the spirits and be able to overcome the evil ones.
We also can receive all the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Thank You Lord, for giving us Yourself.
You did not trust anyone with our salvation, but You gave up Your throne in heaven, humbled Yourself, took a body like ours, and descended to the earth to save us from the devil’s evil spirits of sin and death.
We praise and glorify Your name now and forever.
Amen.
