Today's Devotional

We Have To Trust God and Rest In His Promise (John 10: 27-30.)

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” (John 10: 27-30.)

Jesus in these verses is providing us a powerful assurance of His eternal security which He offers us. 
He promises us, His followers, to give us His eternal life and peace, emphasizing that we will never perish. 
Not only that but also no one can snatch us from His protective hands. 
We, the believers in God, accepting the notion that God is in control of our lives, is freeing. 
We must trust in the Lord with all our hearts and do not lean on our understanding. 
But how can we gain this promise and live by it? By surrendering our entire lives and all what we have to God. 
To surrender means to follow God and obey His commands even when we do not know what He is doing. 
To trust His ways and believe that He will bring good out of every circumstances. 
To wait patiently for Him, even if we do not understand. 
To be satisfied with every blessing and gift He gives us and be thankful all the time. In order to keep on surrendering to God, we must remind ourselves that God the Father loves us and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to release us from the grip of the devil, the prince of this world. 
He not only released us but gave us His power over Him, to be able to defeat him whenever he comes to deceive and tempt us with his evil snares. The assurance of Jesus’ promise today, allows us to live with confidence and peace, knowing that we are in His faithful hands, saved and protected. 
Amen.
