Our Worth Is In Christ (Ephesians 2:4-7)

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ,
and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace
in His kindness towards us in Christ Jesus.”
(Ephesians 2:4-7.)

Many of us went through difficult times, traumas, and problems.
Even if some of us have good upbringing and happy life, yet it does not mean that
we did not experience ever bad circumstances and pain.
When we get older, we often look back on things we wished we had not done
or things we would had known earlier to avoid their bad impacts on our lives.
We should not sink deeply on these reflections because it causes us to feel depressed
and imprisoned, but rather we must do two things.
First, we must go to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and read His word in the Gospel.
His word will reveal to us the truth and will release us from our sinful past
and heal us from its sadness and pain.
We will find out that our worth is found in Christ alone and not our appearances,
our weights, our money, our jobs, or our education level.
We must turn back to Christ and know the truth.
He is our savior who came to release us from all the worldly culture and dark concepts.
He is always there, knocking at our door, waiting for us to open for His love, His forgiveness,
and His salvation.
When we read His word in the Gospel we get to know Him more and more
and choose to be with Him and receive His eternal life, which brings His joy, peace, and healing
into our spirits and souls. T

he second thing we must do is to teach our children and the younger generation
that their worth is found in Christ not their appearances.
That they are wonderful and beautiful in His sight not in their body size or appearance.
Jesus loves us all and awaits the return of sinners and prodigal sons who lost the way
and want to repent and return to His bosom.
He is the Good Shepherd who pities us and has mercy on us.

Jesus promises us a life far better than we could ever imagine.
It was described in 1 Corinthians 2:9

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared
for those who love him.”

Saint Paul tells us in his letter to the Ephesians,

“God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think
and He does it by His power, a power that is at work within us if we belong to Him”
(Ephesians3:20.)

May we all open our hearts to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
so that He may reign over us with the healing love of Christ.
Amen.
