Today's Prayer.

A Prayer For God’s Strength

Lord,
Thank You for giving me Your almighty power and strength over the devil in the Holy Spirit. 
Thank You for when I am weak, You are strong. 
You said to Apostle Paul that Your grace is sufficient for him,  for Your strength is made perfect in weakness. 
And I say now like St. Paul “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. 
For when I am weak, then I am strong.” Lord, you know how the devil is scheming day and night to keep me from spending time with you. 
He wants to separate me from your presence. 
He entangles my mind with worry and I am tempted to worry about so many things. 
Our world is a mess in which I can easily get worried. 
Forgive me, Lord, that I accept his worrisome thoughts and believe his fearful lies. 
But thank You that I have Your living word in the Gospel that equips and empowers me to live each day. 
It helps me to remember that You really are in control and fills me with hope. 
Please Lord, renew in me Your overcoming power and strength each day to defeat the devil’s thoughts so that I might not give into discouragement, deception and doubt. 
Help me live as a true child of Yours. Help me honor You in all my ways. 
In Jesus’ name I pray. 
Amen.
