Today's Devotional.
When I Am Weak, Then I Am Strong In Jesus (2Corinthians 12:9-10)
“Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs,
in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake.
For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
(2Corinthians 12:9-10.)
When we sometimes feel hopeless, empty, and discouraged
we are often tempted to run to worldly distractions and temporary solution
to cover up these feelings and give ourselves a false sense
of comfort, achievement, or safety.
But let me tell you today that instead of looking for an escape
from all the spirits that attack us, and we try to fill up ourselves
with whatever the world offers us as satisfying and fulfilling,
we must look up to the Lord first, to satisfy us and fulfill our emptiness
and limitations.
Humble ourselves before Him and ask Him to come
to give us rest and comfort.
He said come to me all you who are weary and heavy burdened
and I will give you rest.
He can use our weakness to show His strength in us.
We must rebuke these spirits in the name of Jesus
who overcame all these spirits on the cross
and He made them spectacle.
Ask Jesus to give us opportunities to empty ourselves more
and serve others and preferring them above ourselves.
We Look up to the Lord and He can use our emptiness for His glory
by serving others as we point them to Him,
and trusting He will fill us with His grace and strength,
conforming us to His image and likeness.
When we are fully dependent upon Christ’s grace,
we are showing others that we can do nothing apart from Him.
Amen.
