God’s Commandment Is To Love Our Enemies (Mathew 5: 44-46)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?”
(Mathew 5:44-46.)

We, the Christians, are still struggling to follow the commandment to love our enemies.
So what can we do to succeed in this conflict?
We must know that we cannot love our enemies without the help of the Holy Spirit.
Our fulfillment of any commandment is only through the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God.

Jesus gives His commandments to those who accepted Him, received Him, and abided in Him that they may be able by His power and Spirit to carry them out.
His words are not commands to be done, but advices to make us able to be away from our enemy, the devil.
To love our enemies we must first forgive them.
How?
To know that our battle is with the evil spirit that bound the person who offended us, not with him. The devil is the one behind him to hurt us.
The devil is so wicked, and he always likes to hit two birds with one stone, us and them.

Second, we must pray and intercede for those bound persons, and at the same time, we rebuke this evil spirit in the name of Jesus and resist it.
Thirdly, the most potent weapon to triumph over the spirit of hostility and hurt is the forgiveness of the blood of Christ, by sprinkling the blood of Christ on those who offended us, meaning that we send them the forgiveness of Christ in the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said that He will give us His peace.
And His peace is not as the world gives.
He is assuring us that we should not be troubled and be afraid
because in Him we will overcome all the evil spirits.
Amen.
