Jealousy Is A Harmful Sin That Leads To Our Perdition

(1Timothy 6 :6-9)

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. “(1Timothy 6:6-9.)

When we stay on our phones interacting on social media for long times, this creates heaviness in our hearts.
It leads us unconsciously to compare ourselves with others. 
We see our friends posting pictures of their children, their businesses, the décor of their houses, or even their vacations and travels. 
The cloud that looms over our heads is this heaviness that we want to imitate them and make our lives look like this. 
This intension to imitate indicates that we are jealous and this feeling that we are not enough, starts to creep up in our hearts. 
Jealousy is a very sneaky and malicious feeling that holds in our hearts without feeling it a sin. Jealousy is a sneaky sin that leads to our destruction emotionally. 
It comes through thoughts that are thrown at us while gazing at anything. 
So we must stop this habit of gazing all day on social media and guard our hearts from these types of entanglements that bring distraction and discontentment. 
We must know that Jealousy will definitely lead to the sin of envy and covetousness. 
The devil is so wicked and has vey sneaky ways like social media which through it we fall in his trap. 
Social media is a good thing if we use it right, such as, we can reach the whole world to deliver the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, or find books and information that will benefit us. 
But it it is also a very dangerous tool that the devil uses to reach all people with his sinful and lusty pictures and messages. 
We, the children of God, have to carefully select what we are looking for and also stay away from any information or image that is evil or is conductive to evil. 
What we all should do before doing anything, is to pray and lift  our hearts to our Lord, Jesus Christ, asking Him for wisdom and direction. 
We must be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  
We have to resist him and be steadfast in the faith.
May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, strengthen, and settle us. 
To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. 
Amen.
